Becoming deep in debt can be an emotional experience. Oftentimes, you may feel hopeless, with no way out. If you’re feeling like your debt is taking over your life, it’s time to seek help. Credit counselling can help you identify solutions to get out of debt. A counsellor will educate you on financial management techniques and offer you financial services tailored to your specific needs.
Credit Counselling Services of Atlantic Canada offers budgeting advice and debt management options as well as financial education to Quebec residents. Our accredited financial counsellors provide telephone counselling sessions, meaning you can learn to become debt-free from the comfort and privacy of your own home. Services are offered in English or French.
Telephone counselling sessions are typically 90 minutes in duration and start with a free consultation. You don’t need to fill out any information in advance, however we do ask that clients prepare the following so that the counsellor can do a complete financial assessment and make the best recommendation possible for your situation:
- a list of all monthly debt payments
- a list of all monthly living expenses
- the latest billing statements from all your creditors
- your most recent pay stub
- any other relevant information about special problem areas (e.g. unpaid income tax, delinquent mortgage amounts, collection notices, etc.)
If you’re ready to get help with your debt problems, contact us for a confidential review of your situation.
